About the Project
Courtyard by Marriott Pune Chakan planned to treat their guests with authentic Garhwali food, a lesser-known gem of India. The robust flavors of the Himalayas, the Pahari practices, and the culture was sure to satiate the guests.

What was the Brief?
The brief was to capture the essence of the Garwhali cuisine using visuals which had to go hand in hand with the story that Chef Suresh from Courtyard By Marriott Pune Chakan was narrating about his home town. We had to bring about a connection between his childhood stories and the food that he has grown up eating in the hills of Uttarakhand. This would help take the viewers on a journey and help them experience the origin of the cuisine and better appreciate the diversity in cuisine our country has to offer.
What Did we Deliver?
We had a team of 5 which included 1 DOP, 1 Focus, 1 Assistant DOP and 2 Light boys. It was a 9 hour shoot and we decided to capture the story bit first and then accompany the chef to get some creative b-roll that would go hand in hand with his story. Pointers were picked up during the piece to camera and then B-rolls were planned accordingly. A rough storyboard was prepared as well for visual references of some of the creative shots. The rest of the shots were planned on the go.
